Tis the season to plant

If it were up to me, my whole backyard would be one big garden...but it's not. The rulers of the backyard are the dogs, and there is no way they would leave anything alone:( So what do I do instead, plant in containers and dream of having my very own big planter. If you haven't noticed yet, I am a pretty big fan of my hubby- and heres yet another reason why. Last weekend when I was gone with girlfriends in Cali he texted me saying "What color would you like your custom planter to be?" Ummm WHaT?!
I had no idea he was planning on doing this. J is unbelievably handy (considering we remodeled almost our whole house ourselves-all his doing, I was just there to help) so he went out, got the supplies, and built his wifey her dream planter. To make it even better he painted it the same color as our front door-adorable!

Today we took on the task of filling it and planting. Since Phoenix is already getting so hot we were limited to what flowers can withstand the heat. We got 6 buckets of verbena and 4 of vinca. So excited for these to grow bigger and have the beautiful flowers in our front yard, and at the same time enjoy them from the living room too:)

We also have a pot of flowers growing from the bulbs by the front door ...so excited to finally see them bloom!
One thing I am most excited about is the tangelo tree my hubby planted today! My parents got it for us as  an anniversary gift (2yrs) because I always steal theirs when i'm at their house. I grew up having two tangelo trees in the backyard and cant seem to ever be satisfied from any juice/fruit from the grocery store- simply nothing compares.

Finally, the herbs! I have basil, rosemary, cilantro, oregano, and parsley growing! I use fresh herbs for so many dishes and it is unbelievable  how expensive fresh organic herbs are at the grocery store. I've already used the cilantro and basil for a few dishes, and can't wait to use them all:)
(The puppies smelling the herbs!)

I'll leave y'all with a couple of adorable pictures of Boomer today..we love this little guy

What kind of flowers/veggies are you all growing???

Cali girls trip, the puppers, and 2 YEARS!!

I did a lot of this this past weekend...
and this...
and this...
and this...
but I also got some time in for this...

which equals a PERFECT weekend!

This past Thursday  I went to San Diego with Kylie and Melissa to stay with our amazing friend Brittany and her roomie Kelly. Our other friends (old and new;) ) Kelly and Whitney came on Friday to join. It was seriously one the best weekends ever. We talked and laughed ourselves silly. Such incredible convos with these beautiful ladies- I still am feeling blessed from it. We shopped, went to the beach, ate and drank too much, danced till we couldn't anymore, and got sore abs from laughing so hard. I am constantly amazed at how much Christ loves me, and how He shows it by blessing me with such just unbelievable girlfriends. Thank you ladies for some memories I will never forget (which says a lot for what a bad memory I have!) PS- my shoulders are still freaking sore from dancing with my arms in the air entirely too much!!

We also got Boomer a couple of weeks ago. He just melts my heart. He has been so great! He is completely opposite of Honey as a puppy. She was/still is CrAzY, but he is sooo mellow! Hallelujah!

Don't you just wanna kiss him too much!?

Both of our babies..with peanut butter on their noses

Lastly, it was mine and J's TWO YEAR anniversary on April 12th! I cannot believe it has been that long, and yet I also can't imagine having lived life without him before- does that make sense at all?! He is simply the best. We went to Tommy Bahamas again this year, I think its going to be our tradition because we did it last year as well. It is always SO fun to see all of my old friends there and catch up, but at the same time be able to have a romantic delicious dinner with my babeh.
(We forgot to take pics at Tommy's, so our kitchen with the puppies it is!)

Love, Adri

(Every amazing photo on this post was taken by MelissaYoungPhotography.com- the ones of J and I are just mine... you can't tell the difference at all right?!?!)
