It is made out of solid metal, and is a dark army green color. We are in love:)
It has so many fun little quirks to it. On the back side each area has a name of someone {were thinking military..not positive though} and apparently its from Town of Freedom. So many ideas going through my head as to what I will put in it. For now we are keeping him in our office, although it might not be where he stays for good.
By putting him there it has reaffirmed my desire to re-paint the office. The green and stripes is fun, but very overwhelming when you walk in. Almost like a circus, but a tad better;) Any opinions on what color we should go with? Currently in the house we have a lot of grey, some dark blue, some light blue, and antique white. Laundry room is still up in the air, but as soon as that project is finished, we are for sure tackling this one!
Once again Craigslist provides us a great find...hooray for deals!

What an amazing find. You are one lucky girl. What do you even search under to find something like that?
ReplyDeleteLove it! You find the best stuff!
ReplyDeleteThis is an awesome find! HOW do you find all these cool pieces? Seriously! Lol.
ReplyDeleteWow! This is really an amazing piece. I would definitely hold onto it; you don't come across something like this very often.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog. Thanks for sharing your home.
Clearly you have a MUCH better craigslist selection that we do! Our ugly-plaid-couch to cool-stuff ratio is 1 Million-to-1.
ReplyDeleteNice find!
What a cool find! Any Craigslist tips on how to find the 'good' stuff??
ReplyDeleteThanks guys! We basically keep a list (J keeps it in his head) of things we would get if we find them, and whenever we have a few minutes we jump on clist and take a gander. Post office boxes has been a search for about 4 months so we were super excited when one popped up. Generally speaking we waste a lot of time on craigslist looking for mis-titled items. This post office box was title old mail boxes. So generally we try to think of all the different ways people could label items and search those key words. But we also do simple searches like chair and table (yes you have to search through a million lazy boys recliners from the 80's in order to find that diamond anthropologie=ish chair listed as old chair). Either way it is a lot of "work" to find these deals sometimes, but oh sometimes it is just sooo worth it. Hope that helps in your cities.

Also, If anyone is interested we looked at a card catalog this weekend that we passed on because we didnt want the work involved to bring it back to life (we were actually going there because she has it labeled as post office boxes, but it is a cc). Either way it definitely needs some work, and prob is from the 80's so not entirely the look we wanted since the drawers were metal. But if you live in Mesa and she still has it and you want it. Go for it http://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/atq/2272493005.html. She said she had another buyer behind us, but that they lived out of town.
