All I did was grab a box and trace out the shape with the old cardboard:
For the fall background I used a simple piece of burlap. Burlap as SAS is dirt cheap, only $1.99/yard! I tried to find a more fall themed print, but the only ones they had were hideous Halloween ones, or lame turkey-overload ones. So, simple it was!
I love the way they turned out. I'm not totally positive that I will keep them just the plain burlap, maybe a little stenciling on there might be a nice touch! They definitely won't have anything to do with Halloween, considering I am not changing them from Halloween to Thanksgiving, and I also am not a big fan of Halloween decor. Am I alone in this? Maybe once we have kids running around my opinion will change, but for now- its strictly fall decor! Ready to see your old friends?
And now, once all the holidays are over I can simply go to the closet and grab these two to put back out:
J is a genius, and i'm married to him..which makes me a genius:) Happy Friday all! Go do something genius this weekend, just so you can fit in with us over here...riiigghhtt!

So fun. I love to change things up for each season. It even makes me clean under furniture :)
ReplyDeleteSo brilliant! I need to think of a few more changes I can make with the seasons. xo
ReplyDeleteI thought I liked the other fabric, but that burlap is perfection. I don't know how you could ever bring yourself to change it.
ReplyDeleteOkay, one more comment, . . but I was just admiring them again and I just have to say, what do you think about putting a thin layer of batting under the burlap for just a LITTLE padding. The whole thing might look a tad more substantial. What do you think?
ReplyDeleteBrilliant!!! And looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteThrilled I just stumbled across your blog,
