It's official- J and I are totally proud to be Americans...we put up a flag in our front yard! I have been wanting one forever, and J surprised me by picking one up this past weekend. Just in time for the 4th, right?!
Here is what that sad un-patriotic corner of our front yard looked like before:

| a million and one dog toys scattered..such is life! |
And here it is now:
It just took one easy install of a holder and now we have a fantastic American yard! J was pretty excited, and so was I:
Little did I know though, there are just about a million and one rules that go along with flags. To make sure you are following the guidelines, check them out here. Silly me thought that you could fly that bad boy all the freaking time, you know- showing off how much we love the good ol' USA, but now I know better. How many of you have the flag in your front yard? Doesn't it feel good?!
Go USA!
Your American flag is BEAUTIFUL!!! It is a lovely addition to your front porch. :-)
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th of July!
Yay! I LOVE flying our flag! We move every 2-3 years(Hub's is in the Army) and we install a flag in EVERY.SINGLE.HOUSE. We are about to move to OR now and guess what we will do first?!... then set up a nursery(baby is due Thanksgiving Day) BTW, I LOVE reading all your pregnancy posts and about Baby Boots!
ReplyDeleteAww, loooove the new addition! It looks great! Who knew there were actual rules to flying a flag?! Good to know :)
ReplyDeleteI always fly our flag all summer long. It goes up Memorial day and comes down Labor day. I dont follow all the rules, so dont tell anyone. I love coming home and seeing the flag blowing in the breeze (the hot oven breeze ;)
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th!
